PixFusion, established in 2001 and located in New York City, creates audio and photo personalized video
products and services applying its patented technology to automate the production process. Pixfusion creates and sells children’s high profile branded video/DVD products through its Kideo brand (www.kideo.com).
PixFusion has acquired licenses from some of the most prominent and respected companies including Marvel, Nickelodeon, Hit Entertainment, American Greeting and WGBH. In addition to its consumer entertainment division, PixFusion has also entered into several licenses of its proprietary intellectual property platform based on the strength of its long standing patent portfolio.
PixFusion markets its DVD products widely through traditional and new media outlets including distribution channels within the photo-personalization industry. PixFusion has received awards from iParenting and the National Parenting Center for its outstanding family friendly products.
Management Team
Marc E. Jaffe, CEO:
Marc E. Jaffe has been the CEO of PixFusion since May of 2006, and served as an advisor and consultant to the company prior to accepting the CEO title. Prior to PixFusion, Marc was the Senior Vice President of Rodale Books and Managing Director of Licensing for Rodale Inc., the world’s leading publisher of information on healthy, active lifestyles. Jaffe oversaw several divisions at Rodale, including its domestic and international trade book businesses as well as its licensing business. He is responsible for publishing the phenomenally successful The South Beach Diet books (over 22 million copies sold worldwide) and the #1 The New York Times bestseller, Pete Rose’s My Prison Without Bars. Jaffe was a member of Rodale’s nine person executive management committee. He was also a member of the Board of Directors of Men’s Health Italy, Rodale’s most successful international magazine joint venture with Mondadori.
Upon joining Rodale in January 2001, Jaffe played a key role in starting up its licensing business based on the magazine brands Prevention, Men’s Health et al., launching an international trade book publishing effort and dramatically growing the domestic trade book business sevenfold. Jaffe also negotiated with Waterfront Media the establishment of www.SouthBeachDiet.com.
Jaffe has more than 25 years of general management experience in print and digital media, digital rights, licensing and law. He has been responsible for marketing and publishing products with powerful brands, ranging from Star Trek to JK Lasser, and from The Silver Palate to Hugh Johnson. He has also licensed intellectual properties to more than 100 companies across nearly 40 media and technologies worldwide.
Prior to joining Rodale, Jaffe served as a managing director of Double Impact, a boutique global technology-consulting firm. He also served as the non-executive chairman of a publicly held NASDAQ company, Vizacom, an Internet architect and direct marketing software publishing company. Previously, Jaffe founded and was President of Electronic Licensing Organization, a licensing agency dedicated to bringing together information and entertainment with new media and interactive technologies. The company’s diverse client base ranged from IBM to Bantam Doubleday Dell. Jaffe served as an Executive Vice-President of Franklin Electronic Publishers, a world leader in e-book publishing, as well as President of the Software and Video Division of Simon & Schuster, a Viacom company.
As CEO, Jaffe is responsible for all aspects of the business but directly handles large business development accounts, content licensing, and certain international expansion opportunities. Jaffe holds a J.D. (Juris Doctorate) degree from Columbia Law School and a BA from Columbia College.

Brian Dowdall, President:
Brian is the President of PixFusion and joined the company in 2001. He was promoted to President in 2004. Dowdall has been instrumental in growing the company to its current position as well as developing its infrastructure and staff. Previously, he was the Vice President of Corporate Development and a member of the four person executive committee at FerrousExchange (a metals trading platform), where he was hired as the seventh employee of what became a forty person company. Brian co-led capital raising efforts that resulted in raising $15 million from venture capital firms and strategic investors and was responsible for strategic partnerships.
Dowdall has an extensive background in corporate finance and accounting. Prior to joining FerrousExchange, he was an Associate in Investment Banking at Wit SoundView. Joining Wit SoundView in August 1998, Brian participated in the company's dramatic growth and success, including a significant investment by Goldman Sachs and other leading venture capital firms, its IPO and the acquisition of SoundView Technology Group. In addition, Brian managed 15 IPOs for internet and technology clients. Prior to Wit Capital, he was an analyst in the Corporate Finance Department at Salomon Smith Barney and its predecessor Salomon Brothers. Prior to Salomon, Brian became a certified public accountant while employed at Ernst & Young.
At PixFusion, Brian oversees a broad array of responsibilities including finance, reporting, intellectual property enforcement, operations , HR, and certain direct internet marketing initiatives. Brian holds a BS in Business Administration from the University of Washington.

Alex Kamenshchik, Vice President of Technology:
Alex is the Vice President of Technology and joined the company in 2001 and has more than eleven years of experience in information technology. Under Alex’s technology leadership, the company had moved its technology infrastructure from a manual, one-at-a-time DVD production process to a globally automated personalized entertainment architecture spanning in-lab, out-lab, retail , and internet. Prior to joining Pixfusion, Alex was a systems engineer at Kideo Productions Inc. which he joined during undergraduate studies and stayed with the company after graduation. In addition, Alex has been an IT consultant to small businesses as well as individual clients in and around New York City.
Mr. Kamenshchik holds a BA in Computer Science from New York University.

Erik Bryan Slavin, Director of Content Developement:
Erik is the Director of Content Development at PixFusion and joined the company in 2006. In the past two years Erik has grown the active Pixfusion catalog from 3 DVD titles to the current 9 and overseen the development of the PixFusion Internet Authoring Suite, PixFusion's proprietary web based video personalization system.
Erik has edited and directed commercials for Prudential and was the Creative Director for RIPFEST where he produced over 50 short films. His animation was featured in Brain DePalma's Mission: Impossible, television commercials for Apple Computer and the Macromedia (Adobe) Showcase. A pioneer in web based and immersive media he has created Virtual Tours for Ortho Biotech, Polo Jeans, The Guggenheim Museum, The Whitney Museum and the Museum of Modern Art.
Erik was an Instructor in Digital Filmmaking and Directing at New York University for eight years, led DVD Authoring and Editing seminars at the Apple Market Center and was an Instructor at the American Film Institute.
As the Director of Content Development, Erik is responsible for all aspects of the production of the PixFusion library of digital assets and collaborates closely with the V.P. of technology to ensure a compelling personalization experience to our customers. Erik holds a Bachelor of Arts in Narrative Environments from Purchase College and was a Directing Fellow at the American Film Institute.
